UPDATED: ALPMA Response to COVID-19

19 March 2021

On 18 March 2020, ALPMA made the decision, in the interests of health and safety, for all our members, delegates, partners and wider community to postpone all local face-to-face seminars and events effective immediately. These changes will be implemented until 30 June 2020 across Australia and New Zealand.

Our members are now, more than ever, serving on the front line within their firms. So, serving our members is our top priority.  To do this it makes sense, given our established and successful webinar program, to move all local seminars online through enhancements to our current webinar program.

Where possible, scheduled local seminars will be brought online and operated as a webinar. That said, our online webinar program is currently being adapted in order to respond to the growing challenges of our members and their firms. Our webinar series, commencing next week, will provide our members with support, relevant resources and topical assistance during this period. We hope to communicate some of these changes with you shortly.

It is likely that over the next few weeks, lead times for webinars will change and content may need to be offered on short notice. The length of our webinars might also vary based on the topic or type of session scheduled. Webinar starting times will need to cater for the multiple time zones differences across Australia and New Zealand. We recognize and appreciate time is a valuable commodity, right now and we will work hard to deliver content of high value. We will, where able, record all webinars so members can watch these afterwards at a convenient time. If a webinar is not being recorded, we will highlight this in advance.

Working remotely or within a disrupted work environment may present you, your team or your firm with some new challenges, but on the flip side new opportunities will also arise. Fortunately, ALPMA is run virtually, with all employees already working remotely, so we are well placed to be able to respond to this changing environment quickly and focus on assisting you. It will be important for our members to stay connected, increase your communication and support one another as best you can. ALPMA hope to be able to assist our members and the wider community to stay connected. More on that soon.

The ALPMA Board would like to thank our members, partners and wider legal community for their continued support and we look forward to engaging and supporting you in the digital world.
