From September – October 2020 we surveyed 250 legal finance professionals, in conjunction with BigHand, to uncover the latest trends in legal pricing strategies, including the impact of COVID-19, the rising demands for client pricing transparency, and the need to improve people, process and technology in response.

What a difference a year can make. When we conducted this survey in 2019, no-one could have envisaged the COVID-19 pandemic and the financial impacts and challenges that were about to take place. Although this year is different, how firms bounce back and thrive will largely be a function of their financial strength and position pre-COVID-19.

The Associations Matter 2020 COVID-19 Member Impact Survey was conducted on behalf of the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA). The purpose of the survey was to help ALPMA better understand the impact of COVID-19 on the profession and individual legal firms.
