The IT & Practice Management Solution Survey was conducted in partnership with IT Simply in December 2021. The report was released (Feb 2022) in partnership with IT Simply, as part of our Practice Management Solution Showcase.
Through the analysis of the survey results, ALPMA has gained insights from 241 firms across Australasia on their IT and practice management solution usage. This report highlights the current trends, challenges and functionality firms are seeking, making it a vital piece of any firm's review process for new IT services or platforms, in particular practice management systems.
High satisfaction with external IT providers |
Over 88% of law firms confirmed that they Definitely Would or Probably Would recommend their existing external IT provider. |
Firms moving to the cloud |
40% of firms with on premise servers and 30% of firms with hosted servers plan to move to cloud-only based systems. |
Most firms have recently changed or plan to change PMS provider |
30% of firms have changed practice management software in the last 5 years and 28% intend to change in the next 2 years. |
Lack of functionality main reason for changing PMS provider |
50% of those firms who have changed PMS provider within the past 5 years cited lack of functionality as a reason. |
Automated workflows under-utilised |
45% of respondents use some form of automate workflows but only 31% of those use it across all practice areas. |
The Australasian Legal Practice Management Association, in partnership with IT Simply, is excited to present the findings of the IT & Practice Management Solution Survey to the ALPMA Community.
There are a number of take aways from this benchmarking survey we will highlight and IT Simply will also take us through their data analysis process using their Practice Intelligence solution. A great opportunity to see how beneficial BI Reporting can be!
