In recent years, there has been an impressive body of research published on psychological and mental health within the Australian legal profession. The emergence of COVID-19 across the globe has created a new work health and safety risk that firms need to manage.
Work health and safety laws impose a primary duty of care on law firms as a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) to ensure the psychological and physical health of workers. Failure to do so can lead to ill health, including psychological injury.
