Mental Health First Aid Trainer – Legal Industry

The Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA) is interested in speaking with qualified Mental Health First Aid Trainers that have completed the MHFA Instructor training program with Mental Health First Aid Australia and can assist to deliver online training on a monthly basis for our members. In particular, we are interested in speaking with qualified instructors who have completed the qualifications required to deliver the online, in person or blended training courses specifically tailored to the legal industry.

As the peak membership body for legal practice management across Australia (and New Zealand) we currently offer our Australian members the ability to participate in monthly MHFA training sessions organised by ALPMA. We are therefore interested in speaking with instructors who can help facilitate these training sessions (both initial and refresher training) on a monthly basis as organised by ALPMA.

ALPMA will:

  • Advertise, market and promote monthly sessions
  • Book, process and manage all bookings received including payment
  • Liaise with our MHFA instructor for availability of session dates
  • Provide vouchers to MHFA instructors to set up participants in the MHFA portal to access prior readings
  • Set up all zoom/online meeting details
  • Manage all communications with participants

MHFA Instructor will:

  • Assign vouchers in MHFA portal
  • Ensure participants can access pre-course reading materials
  • Professionally deliver online MHFA training across 2-days for participants
  • Assist participants with any course queries as required
  • Ensure participants complete online testing
  • Assign, upon completion, participants with their accreditation

About you

  • Qualified MHFA Australia Instructor
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering the standard or specifically tailored MHFA course for the legal industry.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health challenges in the legal industry
  • Proficiency in using Zoom to conduct online training
  • Above average communication skills.
  • Knowledge of educational delivery principles and learning delivery methods
  • Self-motivated, takes responsibility and demonstrates a high level of initiative
  • Strong attention to detail

Terms

Contract role to deliver as a minimum monthly MHFA training
Flexible working arrangements
Work from home 
As ALPMA operates in a completely virtual environment we can be flexible with your primary location in Australia, noting delivery times must cater for both East and West coast time differences.
